What is the GEFAM?

The GEFAM is the Group of Atomic and Molecular Physics of the Spanish Royal Societies of Physics (RSEF) and Chemistry (RSEQ). The group was established in 1988 and is composed by researchers from different Spanish and international Universities and research centers like CSIC and CIEMAT. The main activities of GEFAM involve the organization of the biannual Iberian research Conference IBER, in collaboration with the Portuguese Society of Physics (SPF) and the Conference for Young Researchers in Atomic and Molecular Physics (J2IFAM). The last IBER 2019 Conference was organized in Évora, while the J2IFAM 2022 edition was organized in Santiago de Compostela. The GEFAM promotes the career of young member researchers in the field of Atomic and Molecular Physics with several grants and awards.
